Louisiana Hospital Rural Network

What is the Louisiana Hospital Rural Network?
Our hospitals are working hard every day to keep expenses low and quality high, but the more complex healthcare gets, the more difficult your job becomes. This is the reason why the Louisiana Hospital Association developed a program to assist our small and rural hospitals with lowering costs to improve operating margins. The result of this effort is the creation of the Louisiana Hospital Rural Network.

The Network’s mission is to reduce healthcare costs and improve healthcare quality by leveraging the purchasing power of the small and rural hospitals of Louisiana through developing a group purchasing network.

In addition to providing some of the most competitive pricing arrangement, any funds received through rebates by the Network may be utilized by network members for a variety of value added services.

  Value Added Services

  • Community needs assessments
  • Healthcare professional recruitment strategies
  • Strategic operational planning to facilitate the delivery of healthcare services
  • Physician and community health education
  • Educational forums to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services to rural areas

How does a hospital participate?
The Network consists of members of the Louisiana Hospital Association’s Small & Rural Hospital Constituency Group. Through membership, a hospital can leverage the purchasing power of all small and rural hospitals throughout the state to reduce healthcare costs and improve efficiency. To participate in any group purchasing or other initiative offered through the Network, your hospital will have to meet the specified criteria set out for each program/initiative.

What types of Group Purchasing Opportunities will a member have?

The LHA has partnered with Amerinet, a nationwide healthcare group purchasing organization, that offers comprehensive, member-focused products and services delivered by industry-leading suppliers. Through this partnership, the LHA’s small and rural hospital members will be offered significant savings opportunities through participation in the various programs offered through the Network.

Some of these opportunities include:
